I type words as they spill from my soul. They are the downloads from the universe, the lessons in action, and the truth as I am seeking it.

I’m breaking up with Target.

Ok. Ok. Let’s not get crazy like that one time when I was 8 months pregnant and yelled at customer service, telling them I would never shop there again. Following it up with calling all of my loved ones demanding they also boycott Target.

Yeah not like that.

I do love that in one swoop I can get milk, paper towels, something cute from Joanna Gaines line, pajamas for the kids, toothpaste… and maybe that Graphic tee or some sunnies for me. But honestly, Target shopping for me is kind of like the Bachelor. It’s my guilty pleasure. Getting to roam the isles unaccompanied by minors is like a mini vacation. Maybe I’ll grab a latte from Starbucks or a Kombucha on my way out. But it’s often mindless spending, like my mindless TV watching. And I am all about having a moment to yourself to just zone out, but what I’ve realized is that some of that mindless spending could be spent on something more worthy.

Recently this new store has been popping up everywhere I look. Someone new always seems to be checking in there on social media. Then some of my friends were attending an event they were hosting… you know. When the same thing just seems to show up over and over and over… I’ve finally tuned in enough to know that you should listen.

So when the owner was the guest preacher at church that day… THE DAY that I decided to make some changes… and I see that everything in her store is supporting women in vulnerable communities, it’s like a big DUHHHHH! B- get there now!

And what better reason than your bestie's birthday. The moment I stepped in the store from the soft maxis to the leather handbags, to all of the jewelry… the sweet messages and pictures of these women interwoven into the wall, I knew this was my place.

So, I’m sorry Target, but I may be doing a whole lot less apparel grabbing but you can still be my go-to for Cat & Jack.

All of this just got me thinking… where in life do we check and miss opportunities to check in? Where are the missed opportunities of living out our purpose? And how much are we just going with the societal flow? (and we wonder why "the world these days")

Everything is connected.

You have a greater purpose.

So do I.

And we need each other to actualize it.
