I type words as they spill from my soul. They are the downloads from the universe, the lessons in action, and the truth as I am seeking it.
This past Friday, I hosted my first women's circle. I have been feeling called to lead a group of women in this capacity for some time but I really didn't even know it existed beyond the vision in my heart. It was simply an idea brewing. An experience kind of like yoga but without the yoga. Something that connects you physically and spiritually, creates vulnerability yet safety. An experience that crashes your walls and heals your heart. A mix of group therapy and some spiritual experience.
This Summer, I read Rise Sister Rise, by Rebecca Campbell and in one of her reflections she shares an experience in circle. Instantly, I thought to myself, THAT'S IT! But still I wasn't really sure how or what. The logistics still seemed a little far.
And then this Fall I was invited to speak on a self-care panel and met my friend, Jess (remember Jess from Season 2 of the podcast?!) where her and a few of the women were talking about a circle she held. Goosebumps. I immediately interjected asking for more. Who? Where? How? I wanted all of the details. A few months later I attended one of Jess's circles and it just immediately clicked.
This, my sweet ones, is exactly how manifestation works. I seed is planted in your heart. You water it. You tend to it when the signs open up, and then your seed blooms. If done right, somehow you just know everything you need to know and are delivered all of your missing elements along the way.
As 2019 started to close and I began to look ahead to 2020 and set my intentions, a women's circle just felt like the truthiest truth that could exist. So even with my bundle of nerves and simultaneous rooted knowing, I set the date for the new moon.
I would say coincidentally - but are there really any coincidences - I began really tuning into the moon and our own 'moon cycles' last fall. I started tracking my period really closely and diving into the wisdom that accompanies the moon. I wanted to see how closely this mirrored my natural moods and intuitive guidance. Wouldn't you know it? It was nearly spot on, while also really helping me see where my hormones dropped (another post for another day). The point being, the wisdom of the moon has been so powerful for me that aligning it with the woman's circle was a true aligned decision.
ok ok but what exactly is it
After posting a few pictures online, I got so many questions, "What exactly is a women's circle??????"
I hate to sound cliche but it is hard to describe without being there because so much of circle is feeling (there's that divine feminine again). Simply giving you the layout or the format will help you understand about 20% of your question, but I will still do my best.
Women's Circle is all about creating safe space for connection and personal healing. At the start of each circle, I take careful time to set the space including cleansing with smudge and sound. I set my intention for the room and invitation.
When you arrive, you are invited to sit wherever you feel called in the circle. The dress is comfortable because we are sitting on the floor for about two hours. So be you. Come as you are. Wear relaxed clothing. Feel free to wash your face (because you never know when the tears will release). Bring extra pillows and meditation cushions.
The start of circle is my chance to welcome you, open circle, and just give a little bit of introduction to our format and theme. Yes, there's a theme that we use to create dialogue.
Circle is not a space for me to be your coach, though I may probe a little if I think you can go deeper. But I am not there to offer you any solutions, because you are fully capable of healing yourself.
Questions and answers are formulated around meditation, breath, and just connecting with your divine spirit. It's a way to open the portals of your heart and really get connected to your intuition. It's a chance to open yourself up to other women who are equally queens and hot messes, knowing you are no better or no worse.
Circle is just a beautiful connection of exploration, connectivity, and healing.
If you love this and want to come, here is the date to our next circle. Hope to see you there.
